We were delighted to be invited to attend the Techman Rugby Festival Rugby Tournament which took place on Wednesday 27th September at Barlborough Hall .

Westbourne’s under 11's got off to a great start winning their first game by 3 – 0 v Mylnhurst. They then went on to beat Immaculate Conception, Barlborough Hall A and B to win their group.

Pitched in the final against the winners of group two, another Mylnhurst team, the boys went on to win 3-0 to become overall winners of the tournament!

This event which was organised by Barlborough Hall pupil, Sam Haddock, was to support sport for all and in particular young people with disabilities. The money raised from the ten participating school teams will go to support the charity READY who will ensure that the money reaches those that need it.

"The boys were outstanding, displaying skill and teamwork throughout" . said Westbourne Sports Director, Nigel Elvidge  " We were delighted to have won such a great tournament and it was a privilege to be supporting such a worthy cause."

Westbourne awarded Wil Hawley man of the tournament for his fabulous tacking and running with the ball. David Hughes and Luca Cancello scored many tries but it really was the whole team effort that resulted in such a strong performance on the day.
