On Thursday 23rd March our U14 and U15 teams played Tapton School at Netball. We were missing a few key players but this did not dispirit our girls who played their best on the day. Their target was to try use ‘man to man’ marking and ‘blocking and holding’, as practised in their training sessions.

Unfortunately the U15 girls found their game against a very strong opposition very challenging and despite their best efforts, were unable to secure a win. Player of the match was Yasmin Shaw.

The U14 girls however, had an exhilarating game! The girls got off to a great start leading the first quarter 9-0. At half time it was 9-1. After the half time team talk and a little repositioning the girls came out fighting but soon found playing into the sun and wind somewhat challenging. Westbourne was still leading 9-5 at the end of the third quarter. By the final quarter you could see the drive and passion from both teams. The final score was 13-5 to Westbourne. The players of the match were Josephine Paul and Abi Crapper.

Well done girls!
