In the run up to Armistice Day, our youngest pupils were taught to remember the soldiers in the war. To aid their understanding they watched a BBC Children's remembrance film. This was a short animation that sees war as experienced by animals in a WWI battlefield.
They also used their literacy time to write about why we have poppies and enjoyed making their own poppies in Art - the red glitter was a big hit and added a touch of sparkle to what is a a sombre reminder of the past.
Following on from the Year 6 assembly on Armistice Day, Junior and Senior school staff and children observed a minute's silence ahead of Sunday's Remembrance Day.
