Whole School Sports Day at English Institute of Sport
On Thursday 11th May Year 3 to Year 11 pupils travelled to the English Institute of Sport for an action packed day. Events included high jump, long jump, 200m, javelin and the 1500m.
I was in the fortunate position of announcer so I had a great view of Sports Day from the stands. The pupils put on an amazing spectacle of sport in a world class venue. The 1500m at lunch time was led by Thomas Dawn for 1400m of the race with Edwin Paul hot on his heels pipping him to the post in a very fast time (4 min 52 seconds). They both lapped many of the runners on the seven and a half lap course.

Many school records were broken but notably Cristina Bayona in the 60m and high jump (1m 12cm).

Harrison Cundy achieved records in high jump (1m 55 cm) and the long jump (4m 58cm).

The House cup was won by Johnson.

Thank you to all pupils, staff and parents for contributing to a hugely successful day. A big mention goes especially to Miss Pursehouse who organised our sports day.
