On Monday 6th November our Pre-School and Reception children enjoyed meeting music-loving dog and cat, Stan and Mabel at the Crucible Theatre.

Narrated by Polly Ives of Music in the Round, this fantastic action packed show, 'The race to space' leads them on a musical adventure whereby all the animals try to escape to a new planet with wild land and seas.  This is all because their home has been turned into a bustling metropolis. They try to escape in a rocket but accidentally crash! The mayor then decides to turn the old city back into its former wild land and gives it back to the wild animals.

This was a great hour of music and storytelling presented with illustrations from the book featuring a host of animal instrumentalists (With Ensemble 360). We had plenty of opportunities to join in!

Our children caused quite a stir as they sported the animal hats that they had made in the run up to the event.

Thank you to Polly Ives and Ensemble 360 for a really lovely morning.
