The U-13 Girls team played against and beat King Ecgberts and Parkwood in their league matches to reach the final. They then played a strong Ecclesfield team, just losing out to finish as Sheffield School's Runners-up. This constitutes a wonderful achievement since the girls have had no opportunity to have practice sessions before the tournament, and they were competing against much larger state schools who have many more girls to choose their teams from (Ecclesfield have around 400 girls in Year 7 and Year 8).
Cristina and Rosie were awesome as wicket keepers through the tournament, whilst Evie, Lulu and Trixie scored over 25 runs and therefore had to retire when they batted. Erin, Grace, Jessica and Esme all bowled and fielded well as well as scoring runs when they batted. The girls were quick to learn the intricacies of the indoor rules and amended their play accordingly. It was truly a fabulous team effort, expertly captained by Lulu.
