Sheffield Wednesday Signing for Joshua

Congratulations to Year 4 football captain, Joshua who has just (June) signed for the U10's Young Owls!

Young Owls won the U9 A division last year, he has been through two trials and a selection process of club standard making into into the team from 10 trialists for two places.

Joshua has had two seasons with Porter who were playing in what was basically D division (to give you a scale of what he's achieved)

"This past year as school football captain has brought him on massively so please pass on our thanks to Westbourne's Mr Elvidge for his trust in him, this has massively helped his development." said dad.

Mini Red Tennis Fulwood LTC Schools Invitational Tournament

A big congratulations to the pupils who took part in the mini tennis competition on Saturday 13th May.  Thank you to Mr Wragg for organising this. In the tournament there were six teams competing from Ashdell, Birkdale, Sheffield High School and Westbourne. The teams were split into two groups of three. Westbourne won their group and Birkdale won the other. When they faced each other in the final Westbourne won overall!

The Westbourne team:

Finley, Danny, Advait, Lucas.

In the Prep tournament again Ashdell, Birkdale, Sheffield High School and Westbourne all took part. The teams were split into two groups of three. Westbourne won their group and Birkdale won the other so they met in the final. It was a very good match which was tense at times with the final result going to Birkdale.

The Westbourne team:

Golf Champs!

Alex Chan-Kingswood in Year 8,  along with Jacob Kenworthy in Year 7 continue to make fantastic progress on the golf course.
On Saturday 13th May it was the first of the Pete Cowen Mini tour series which takes on 10 different courses over 12 weeks. The first competition was at Phoenix golf club and is a nine hole competition from the blue tees off scratch.
We are happy to report that Jacob won the competition shooting a 3 under par 33.
This was followed on Sunday by Alex winning the Junior Hardisty trophy at Bondhay - his home club. Alex shot net 67 (6 under standard scratch for the day) from the white tees and this resulted in a 2.4 handicap reduction for Alex...He has now dropped 5 shots in the last 2 months.
Well done boys!
