Oxbridge success story

We are celebrating further academic success with more former students gaining places at Oxford and Cambridge Universities.

Former Head girl Lizzie Peck has been offered a conditional place at The Queen's College Oxford to read French & Russian.

Lizzie is the first Westbourne girl to be offered an Oxford place.

Toby Williams who gained A* grades in all his subjects and an A* with distinction in Further Mathematics, has also been offered a place at Exeter College Oxford to read Politics, Philosophy and Economics.

Previous Westbourne Oxbridge pupils were Tom O'Connor and James Brotherston who left Westbourne in the summer of 2011 with 12 A & A* at GCSE, they were offered places at Oxford and Cambridge respectively.

Tom to read Engineering at St Hugh's Oxford and James to read Maths at St Catharine's College, Cambridge.

"We are delighted with the progress that Lizzie, Toby, Tom and James have made," said Westbourne headmaster John Hicks.

"The school takes great pride in the academic achievements of all its pupils, both past and present."
